Two Moroccans Win Third and Fifth Place of Katara Prize for Quran Recitation

Doha - Two Moroccans Hamza Warach and Omar Akeskous won third and fifth places in the 4th edition of the Katara Prize for Quran recitation, organized by the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, in Doha.

The Foundation announced Saturday, in a statement, the names of the winners of this competition held remotely, where Morocco was leading by number with six contestants followed by Iraq, Egypt, Syria, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Algeria.

Some 2,004 candidates from 18 Arab and 44 non-Arab countries participated in the 4th edition of the Katara Prize for Quran recitation.
