The book displays the richness of traditional gastronomy as a universal heritage. It is the result of the collective work of thirty spouses of heads of diplomatic missions of Islamic culture, but also of different origins and traditions.
The Moroccan cuisine is represented by the Moroccan Association of Spouses of Ambassadors (AMCA) with traditional dishes for the holy month of Ramadan, as well as by Chef Moha, special guest of the edition, with innovative recipes of the new Moroccan cuisine of this blessed month.
On this occasion, President of the Diplomatic Circle and spouse of the Ambassador of Peru, Alessandra Mancini stressed that the book is a "journey through the recipes of Ramadan, where gastronomy plays an important role as a catalyst of a sense of collective identity which provides the individual with the awareness of belonging to a community that generates a series of shared cultural values.
For her part, Minister of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and Family, Jamila El Moussali said that this book is part of an artistic genre "very important", namely the culinary arts.
This book also serves as a tool for bringing people together through culture. "Strengthening cultural ties between peoples also goes through gastronomy and the culinary arts are now part of diplomacy," she said.
The profits from the book sales will be entirely donated to social projects.
The Diplomatic Circle is a non-profit organization that brings together the wives of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Morocco. One of its main objectives for the past 30 years was to share experiences for the benefit of local communities through solidarity actions in favor of vulnerable populations.
