According to the Xinhua News Agency, about twenty Moroccan and Chinese academics and researchers took part in the tenth session of the Conference on cultural and educational exchanges between China and Morocco held on Friday in virtual mode, under the theme: "Human and cultural exchange between China and Morocco: new era, new opportunities and new challenges".
Speaking at this meeting, organized at the initiative of the Beijing International Studies University and the Mohammed V University of Rabat, former Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Cheng Tao emphasized the importance of human and cultural exchanges to enable the populations of the two countries to get to know each other better.
For his part, Ahmed Choukri, professor at the Institute of African Studies of the Mohammed V University, noted that the Moroccan-Chinese relations are marked by friendship and mutual respect, stressing that the depth of historical relations promote economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries.
As for Rajaa Dakir, professor at the Institute of Hispanic-Lusophone Studies of the University Mohammed V, she considered that culture is a real bridge on which is based any possible economic or political conception between the two countries, and therefore it is appropriate to always engage in a constructive dialogue between different cultures.
For his part, the vice-president of the Beijing International Studies University noted that the world today is witnessing an omnipresence of the spirit of integration and mixing of different cultures and civilizations, adding that "we are all called upon to put aside the differences while creating a common platform which advocates openness, tolerance and mutual interest".
