The ceremony, initiated by Moroccan association "Cultures sans frontières;" was held through video conference to allow the award winners outside Egypt to follow the event which was attended by prominent figures representing different fields.

Morocco's professor of nephrology Amal Bourquia is among the women honored, besides former president of the Egyptian National Council for Women Mervat Tellawi,  Emirati planning consultant Chahinaz Al Baskati, and Egyptian Senate member Samira Abdelazi.

The event organizers also paid tribute to Moroccan artist Jannat and Egyptian artists Nihal Abir and Hanan Shawki, among others.

On this occasion, "Cultures sans frontières" has awarded the title of "Ambassador of the Sahara" to Moroccan artist Saida Charaf in recognition of her rich artistic career.

The 4th "Oscars of women leaders" was dedicated to Moroccan icons Touria Jabrane and Amina Rachid and Egyptian icons Ragaa Al Geddawy and Soad Hosny in recognition of their artistic and cultural contribution, according to "Cultures Without Borders" president, Naima Badaoui.
