She said that the health crisis highlighted the importance of women’s roles and their contribution in the fight against the pandemic, underscoring the important projects on which the Kingdom has worked during the past decade in the field of women’s empowerment, especially the Governmental Plan for Equality.
The official mentioned the "Tamkine" program, which aims to achieve three strategic objectives by 2030, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, which is meant to reach 30% of female employment rate, against 19% this year (2020), to multiply the percentage of female business-related graduates to 8%, and to promote an appropriate and sustainable environment for the economic empowerment of women.
Adil Rais, CGEM’s president for Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima pointed out that the pandemic amplified the structural hurdles that women are facing, noting that only 15% of the projects were given to women in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region within the framework of the Intelaka Program.
