This is the first time that Morocco has taken part in the "MEP Awards" held each year by this influential European magazine to reward the work of European deputies in different fields.
This year's "MEP Awards" was organized in partnership with Morocco to which the magazine devoted ten articles highlighting the Euro-Moroccan partnership in various areas, notably the role of the Kingdom in Africa's co-development, the green revolution initiated by Morocco, the potential of the pharmaceutical industry and the development of financial services.
The Kingdom was represented at this European meeting by a virtual exhibition stand showcasing, from Tangier to Lagouira, the country's wealth and cultural heritage, as well as the projects carried out in the field of renewable energy.
In a speech during the virtual award ceremony, Moroccan Ambassador to the European Union Ahmed Rahhou underlined the importance of the work carried out by the European Parliament and its role in the functioning of EU institutions.
"Morocco will always stand by the side of its European friends and allies to work for peace and stability in the world and to strengthen cooperation for an inclusive development policy," he added.
The Ambassador then virtually awarded the award to MEP Marian-Jean Marinescu in the "Transport and Tourism" category.
