Speaking during a webinar initiated by the British Chamber of Commerce for Morocco, under the theme "Morocco-UK: What future for post-Brexit bilateral relations?", Martin highlighted the opportunities to seize in the economic field in the mutual interest of the two countries.
Emphasizing the importance of the Association Agreement between the two Kingdoms, the Ambassador noted that the post-Brexit will pave the way for collaboration between actors from the two countries in different sectors.
For his part, Director of the Office of the British Department for International Trade (DIT) in Morocco and British Consul General in Casablanca Daniel Katte affirmed that the United Kingdom seeks to deepen relations with Morocco and to make it a partner which will serve as a gateway to the entire African continent.
Noting the importance of this association agreement between the two countries, which underlines the growing importance of bilateral relations after Brexit, Katte said that this is "not just an trade agreement but also a means guaranteeing the continuity of these relations with the Kingdom of Morocco".
This strategic partnership will contribute to the continuous development of trade between the two countries, to give better visibility to economic operators of the two Kingdoms, he said.
For his part, Paul Mullard, senior advisor in trade policy DFID-MENA region said that this agreement aims to set the framework of cooperation between the two countries while preserving bilateral trade relations as well as mutual rights and commitments.
According to him, this is a way to preserve all achievements, to diversify partnerships and to strengthen Morocco's pioneering role as a bridge between Europe and Africa.
