This meeting, which took place Thursday in the presence of CNDH President, Amina Bouayach, representatives of the Ministries of Interior and Culture, and Presidents of the City Council of Al Hoceima, and the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, is part of the CNDH strategy for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission, particularly those related to the preservation of memory.
The creation of the Al Hoceima Museum is in line with the constitutional requirements outlined in the message that HM King Mohammed VI addressed to participants in the international symposium on the cultural heritage of the Rif in 2011, in which the Sovereign stressed the need to safeguard the collective memory of Moroccans, the CNDH added.
Speaking on this occasion, Bouayach expressed the hope that the Al Hoceima Museum could become a model to be followed in other regions of Morocco and a pillar of the country's in all its economic, cultural and environmental aspects.
In 2019, two partnership agreements were signed between the Council of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and the Ministry of Culture, on the one hand, and with the Al Hoceima City Council, on the other hand, to create the Al Hoceima Museum.
