Quoting the acting UN envoy to Libya, Stephanie Williams, the Chilean media noted that the Libyan dialogue sessions are "a real opportunity to put a definitive end to this long conflict in Libya".
This dialogue between the delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the House of Representatives is aimed at reaching an agreement on the criteria for the selection of the persons who will fill the positions of sovereignty, in accordance with the provisions of the Skhirat agreement concluded in December 2015, recalled the Chilean news website, adding that thanks to the will of both parties, their particular positive spirit, as well as the commitment of the presidents of the two delegations, a great step forward has been achieved.
The two delegations had resumed, Friday evening, the second round of dialogue, which comes almost a month after a first meeting that brought together the two parties (06-10 September) in Bouznika and which resulted in a comprehensive agreement on the criteria and transparent and objective mechanisms for filling the positions of sovereignty.
