The new toll of confirmed cases brings to 92,016 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 72,968 that of people who fully recovered, the ministry said in its daily covid-19 report.
The number of deaths rose to 1,686, with 38 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, that is a case fatality rate of 1.8%, according to the same source.
The deaths occurred in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (08), Marrakech-Safi (08), Draa-Tafilalet (06), Fez-Meknes (06), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (02), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (02), the Eastern region (02), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (02), Souss-Massa (01), and Guelmim- Oued Noun (01).
The new cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (533), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (279), Draa-Tafilalet (179), Marrakech-Safi (149), Sous-Massa (142), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (113), the Eastern region (102), Fez-Meknes (89), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (53), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (23), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (19) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (11).
The number of excluded cases amounts to 2,203,795 after 20,077 new negative tests.
Active cases reach 17,362, with a prevalence of about 47.8/100,000 inhabitants. Regarding severe or critical cases, there are 263, 49 of which are under intubation.
The cumulative incidence rate stands at 253.4/100,000 inhabitants, compared to a 24-hour incidence rate of 4.7/100,000 inhabitants.
