Speaking at the 112th session of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) which brings together some thirty member States, Fettah Alaoui explained that this change is possible by adapting to new market realities, anticipating changes in tourist consumption patterns and taking advantage of the opportunities offered.

The minister took the opportunity to praise the fighting spirit and the actions taken by all the governments of UNWTO member States to mitigate the socio-economic impact of this health crisis which has seriously affected the tourism sector, noting that the Moroccan government, under the impetus of HM King Mohammed VI, has taken several urgent measures to maintain jobs and support the economy, including the tourism sector.

In this regard, she recalled that her department has developed with stakeholders a plan to revive the sector, stating that the contract program in question aims primarily to preserve the economic fabric and employment, accelerate the start-up phase of the sector through national tourism and lay the foundations for a sustainable transformation of the sector.

Referring to the organization in 2021 in Marrakech of the 24th Session of the UNWTO General Assembly, the minister indicated that Morocco will be proud and honored to bring together the great family of tourism and will spare no effort to welcome its guests and make them discover its wealth, traditions and values of hospitality, tolerance and openness.
