The program of this trip, intended to reassure French travel stakeholders, included meetings with tour operators such as Karavel Fram Promovacances or NG travel, as well as with international airlines.
The meetings aimed at identifying the needs of these stakeholders and reassuring them about Morocco destination so that they reprogram the country in their catalogs for the coming seasons, said the ONMT.
Thus, the Office intends to stimulate a dynamic of recovery and to push for the activation of partnerships with travel producers and distributors.
ONMT director general also attended the general meeting of Travel Companies (EDV), the annual gathering of the entire French distribution force and which held its first post-Covid meeting on Tuesday.
On this occasion, El Fakir stressed that Morocco is and remains a safe country that has placed the health issue as the ultimate priority for its citizens and visitors, and where the tourism industry is more than ever mobilized to protect its customers by respecting all health protocols in order to continue to receive them in the best conditions.
France is the main source market of tourists to Morocco with more than 4.2 million arrivals in 2019, i.e. a 31% market share. Morocco is also the first destination for French travelers outside Europe.
