Three of the suspects were arrested aboard a commercial vehicle at the "Zitoune" neighborhood in the "Tikiouine" area near Agadir, said Tuesday the national police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the search operation resulted in the seizure of 200 kilograms of chira packed in sugar boxes.

The operation also led to the arrest of the fourth suspect, who was on board another commercial car, for his alleged links to this criminal network, the DGSN added.

The suspects have been placed in police custody to complete the preliminary investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, while security operations on the ground continue in order to arrest possible other accomplices in this criminal activity and determine its potential ramifications at the local and national levels, the statement concluded.
