In a statement, the national police (DGSN) said that the child's family had notified the security services of the "Bni Makada" zone in Tangier of the disappearance of a minor of 11 years old, before the searches and investigations revealed that it was a disappearance of a criminal nature, especially since the viewing of video recordings shows the alleged involvement of an individual who lured the victim near the home of his family.

The search carried out by the judicial police, supported by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), resulted in the identification of the suspect, who resides near the victim's home, before he was arrested and directed to the place where he disposed of the body, added the statement.

The suspect was placed in police custody to complete the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to elucidate the ins and outs of this criminal act. The victim's body was transferred to the city's regional hospital for an autopsy, the DGSN concluded.
