Several roadblocks have been installed by the local authorities of the province of Khenifra at the entrances and exits of the communes of Khenifra and M'rirt, for the control of new arrivals wishing to move to the two communes, in close collaboration with the National Security services of the city.
In this regard, each passenger, and after control of the conformity of the exceptional travel permit issued by the authorities of the province of Khenifra is subject to questioning on the reason for traveling before ensuring the regularity of the papers of the vehicle and correct wearing of a protective mask, the aim being to prevent any possibility of contagion and to reduce as much as possible the risk of proliferation of this pandemic.
In addition to the installation of these roadblocks, the local authorities in Khenifra conduct important awareness campaigns to warn against any slackening or sloppiness in compliance with the preventive measures aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19 in the two communes.
The Provincial Coordination Post (PCP) in charge of managing the Covid-19 pandemic in khenifra had decided to ban all travel to and from the cities of Khenifra and M'rirt, except for people with an exceptional travel authorization issued by the competent local authorities, the sectors of good and basic products and services transportation, movement due to professional nature or justified by an extreme necessity, as well as trips for humanitarian reasons or related to the start of the school year for pupils and students.
The PCP has had also decided to suspend public transport linking the cities of Khenifra and M'rirt and linking the two communes to other cities in the province, to close the cafes and restaurants of the two cities at 10 p.m., to prohibit all access to green areas and public spaces beyond 10 p.m. and to close the weekly Ahtab souk in the city of Khenifra as well as the cattle souks of the two cities.
Furthermore, the local authorities of Khenifra urge citizens to scrupulously observe the announced precautionary and preventive measures and to engage responsibly in the national efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19, stressing that violators of these rules will be subject to dissuasive sanctions in accordance with the legislation in force.
