In an article published by Peruvian daily "La Razon" under the title "Morocco's initiative on the Libyan conflict hailed by the international community", Sanchez Serra noted that the convening in Morocco of these talks confirms "Morocco's international commitment to peace", adding that" the Kingdom, which is aware that the stability of Libya is important for the security of the whole region, is increasing initiatives aimed at resolving the Libyan crisis by strengthening the convergence of positions" between the various parties.
In this article, published also on the website of the Federation of Peru's Journalists, the author underlines that the efforts made by the Kingdom led, on December 17, 2015, to an agreement for a political settlement in Skhirat under the auspices of the United Nations, allowing the formation of a government of national entente based in Tripoli and led by Fayez al-Sarraj.
Morocco is sparing no effort to facilitate dialogue between the Libyan stakeholders, he said, adding that the Kingdom has been hosting, since last Sunday, the Libyan Dialogue sessions between the delegations of the High Council of State and the Parliament of Tobruk, with the aim of consolidating the ceasefire and opening negotiations to end conflicts between the Libyan parties.
The Kingdom's commitment to finding a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis was unanimously applauded by the international community, he said, adding that the United Nations has welcomed the "constructive role" of Morocco, which has contributed since the beginning of the Libyan crisis to efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful solution to the conflict in Libya.
The United Nations is convinced "that this latest initiative of Morocco will have a positive impact on the facilitation by the UN of the political dialogue owned and led by the Libyans," he pointed out in this regard.
For its part, the African Union (AU) has commended efforts made by Morocco to bring together representatives of the Libyan Parliament and the High Council of State to re-launch the process aimed at achieving a political solution to the Libyan crisis, he said, noting that the European Union (EU) voiced its gratitude "to Morocco for its active role" in the settlement of the Libyan conflict.
The Peruvian expert also underlined that the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) has welcomed the salutary impulses and encouragement to constructive dialogue of HM King Mohammed VI which notably creates the conditions for the restoration and consolidation of peace and national harmony through fraternal dialogue.
