In reaction to information run by certain electronic sites about these three prisoners of Tunisian nationality, the administration of the Oudaya local prison in Marrakech said in a clarification that they enjoy all the rights which are guaranteed by law, like other detainees, and that they have never lodged a complaint about their conditions of detention.
One of these three detainees had been placed in an individual cell following a disciplinary decision, on the basis of insults against an employee of the establishment in front of other inmates and employees, it added.
The administration of the establishment had received a request for the three sisters to be reunited in the same cell, which was not possible because one of them had been placed in the block reserved for pregnant or women accompanied with their children, after having given birth to a baby inside the penitentiary, it noted.
