In a guidance note addressed to educational officials on the occasion of the start of the 2020-2021 school year, marked by the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ministry emphasized the need to propose concrete solutions based on the particularities and environment of schools, in order to respond appropriately to the requirements of rapid adaptation to different educational models.
This note, which determines the principles, pillars and main guidelines framing the actual functioning of the adopted teaching models, which will be applied at the level of educational establishments, also calls on the directors of educational establishments to apply in an effective and efficient manner the various management mechanisms of the establishment and its participatory bodies.
It encourages them to mobilize all the means and resources to meet the challenges of this exceptional school year, particularly by activating the roles of the various pedagogical supervision and management mechanisms and by making the "project of the establishment" a basic tool for the functioning of pedagogical models within each school.
The ministry pleads for the use of equipment of multimedia rooms available in the schools and for the use of the "Massar" system, given the potential it offers to improve school governance.
This note also pleads for openness on associations of parents and guardians of students by involving them in the different processes requiring broad consultation, while emphasizing the essential role of the family in monitoring the schooling of the child, in particular for the two alternative and remote education formulas and on internal and external communication which represents an essential basis for the success of the pedagogical formulas adopted at regional, provincial and local levels.
Among the principles contained in this note, "in-person education" is the main mode and "remote education" has an exceptional and secondary aspect.
Thus, in accordance with the epidemiological situation of the different regions of the Kingdom, a regional and spatial approach will be defined in order to set up the appropriate educational model based on a participatory approach with the possibility for each school to switch from one model to the next.
According to the said note, three educational approaches based on three hypotheses are possible depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
Thus, in the event of an improvement in the epidemiological situation and a return to almost normal sanitary conditions "in-person education" will be adopted.
If the epidemiological situation requires the application of social distancing, "alternate education" will be the priority choice. Finally, if the epidemiological situation worsens further, "remote education" will be adopted.
In addition, the note includes the various aspects related to the educational process, as well as the health measures established according to the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
The next school year is scheduled for September 7, for all grades, public and private schools and foreign missions in Morocco.
