This new figure brings to 57,085 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 41,901 that of people who fully recovered, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 1,011 with 27 new deaths (Casablanca 8, Marrakech and Fez 3 each, Sefrou and Tanger 2 each, and one case in Meknes, Chefchaouen, Tétouan, Chichaoua, Agadir, Inzegane-Ait-Melloul, Oujda Angad, Beni Mellal, and Tinghir) recorded in the past 24 hours, he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 157.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 14,173, or a rate of 39/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,788, for a total of 1,789,175, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new cases, Mrabet noted that 421 cases were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat (306 in Casablanca, 39 in El Jadida, 28 in Mohammedia, 18 in Settat, 13 in Nouacer, 11 in Berrechid, 4 in Médiouna and 2 in Benslimane), 194 in Marrakech-Safi (126 in Marrakech, 34 in Kalâa-Seraghna, 18 Chichaoua, 11 Rhamna and 5 in Youssoufia), 178 in Fez-Meknès (77 in Fez, 34 in Meknès, 25 in Taza, 13 in Ifrane, 8 in Taounate and Boulmane, 5 in El Hajeb, 4 in Moulay Yaâcoub and Sefrou), 100 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (28 in Skhirate-Temara, 21 in Rabat, 14 in Sale and Sidi Kacem, 11 in Sidi Slimane, 9 in Kénitra, 3 in Khémisset), 83 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (41 Tangier-Assilah, 28 in Tétouan, 7 in Mdiq-Fnideq, 5 in Larache, 2 in Al Hoceima), 71 in Souss-Massa (52 in Agadir-Ida-Ou Tanane, 16 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 1 in Tata, Tiznit and Chtouka Ait Baha).
The other regions that have recorded new cases are the region of Draâ-Tafilalet (66), the eastern region (49), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (27), Guelmim-Oued Noun (13), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (13), and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (6), he said.
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 183 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 44 intubated people.
