The minister, who was the guest of the evening news by TV channel Al Oula, stressed that the students should continue their studies in a normal way. "But once the conditions for the organization of this exam are met, the date will be announced, knowing that the obtained results will be taken into account at the end of the year in the final grades of the baccalaureate," he said.
He noted that the decision to postpone the regional exam is based on the worrying epidemiological situation, indicating that the grades for this examination will account for 25 pc of the final result of the 2nd year of the baccalaureate.
The result of this exam, Amzazi went on, "is not taken into consideration in the transition from the 1st year to the 2nd year of the baccalaureate, like what has been in force for years."
In the same vein, he recalled that the class councils for the 1st year of the baccalaureate met at the end of the last school year and made the decision on the success or failure of the students concerned. As a result, the decision of their passage to the second year of the baccalaureate was taken on the basis of the grades obtained during the tests taken during in-person teaching, before the suspension of classes on March 16 due to the fight against the coronavirus, he said.
The Ministry of National Education announced on Saturday the postponement to a later date of the unified regional examination for the first year of the Baccalaureate, initially scheduled for September 4 and 5, 2020.
