This new figure brings to 50,812 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 35,040 that of people who have fully recovered, said coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 858 with 41 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, that is a case fatality rate of 1.7%, he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 140 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 14,914, that is a rate of 41.1/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,778, for a total of 1,686,114, he added.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new cases, Mrabet noted that 405 cases were detected in the Casablanca-Settat region (337 in Casablanca, 24 in El Jadida, 13 in Nouaceur, 8 in Berrechid, 7 in Mohammedia and Settat, 5 in Médiouna and 2 in Benslimane and Sidi Bennour), 391 in the region of Marrakech-Safi (289 in Marrakech, 73 in Al Haouz, 13 in Essaouira, 6 in El Kalâa des Seraghna, 4 in Youssoufia, 3 in Safi, 2 in Chichoua and 1 in Rehamna), 280 in Fez-Meknès (85 in Fez, 70 in Taza, 56 in Sefrou, 31 in Meknès, 24 in El Hajeb, 9 in Boulemane, 3 in Ifrane and 2 in Taounate) and 129 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (43 in Salé, 34 in Kénitra, 29 in Skhirat-Témara, 16 in Rabat, 4 in Khémisset, 2 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Sidi Slimane).
In addition, 128 cases were recorded in the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra (50 in Béni-Mellal, 35 in Khouribga, 23 in Khénifra, 12 in Fkih Ben Saleh and 8 cases in Azilal), 110 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (58 in Tangier, 16 in Al Hoceima, 15 in Tétouan, 11 in Chefchaoun, 6 in Mdiq-Fnideq and 4 in Larache), 40 in Souss-Massa, 33 in the eastern region, 24 in Draâ-Tafilalet, 16 in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, 6 in Guelmim-Oued Noun and 3 in the region of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.
Regarding people in a critical state of health, Mrabet reported 186 cases admitted to intensive care units, of which 30 people are intubated.
