This new figure brings to 46,313 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 31,576 that of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 68%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 743, with 29 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours (08 in Casablanca, 05 in Marrakech, 04 in Tangier, 02 in Fez and Ouarzazate and 01 in Oujda, Essaouira, Sefrou, Meknès, Tétouan, Al Hoceima, Midelt and Zagoura), with a fatality rate of around 1.6 %.
The cumulative incidence rate is 127.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, he said, indicating that the number of active cases stands at 13,994, that is a rate of 38.5/100,000 inhabitants.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results stands at 20,331, for a total of 1,624,256, he said.
Regarding the geographical distribution of new confirmed cases, Mrabet noted that 478 cases have been recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region (409 in Casablanca, 22 in Nouaceur, 20 in Mohammedia, 15 in Settat, 06 in Mediouna, 04 in Berrechid and 02 in El Jadida), 240 in the Marrakech-Safi region (165 in Marrakech, 58 in El Kelaâ des Sraghna, 10 in Essaouira, 04 in Safi and 03 in Rhamna), 178 in Rabat-Salé Kénitra (59 in Kénitra, 34 in Sale, 30 in Rabat, 21 in Skhirat-Témara, 15 in Sidi Slimane, 12 in Sidi Kacem and 07 in Khémisset), 147 in Fez-Meknès (91 in Fez, 27 in Meknes, 14 in Sefrou, 06 in Boulemane, 05 in Taounate and 04 in Taza), 129 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (65 in Tangier, 28 in Tétouan, 16 in Al Hoceima, 11 in Larache, 07 in M'diq-Fnideq and 02 in Chefchaouen), 122 in Draâ-Tafilalet (95 in Errachidia, 16 in Ouarzazate, 10 in Midelt and 01 case in Tinghir).
The other regions that have registered new cases are Béni Mellal-Khénifra (82), Souss-Massa (78), the eastern region (27), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (20), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (07) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (02), he said.
Regarding people in a severe or critical state of health, Mrabet reported 201 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 59 people under artificial respiration (38 are under invasive artificial respiration).
