This new figure brings to 36,694 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 25,677 that of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 70%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 556, with 23 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, he added, noting that these deaths were recorded in Casablanca (04), Marrakech (04), Fez (04), Tangier (03), Errachidia (03), Salé (02), Sidi Kacem (01), Tétouan (01) and Benslimane (01).
The cumulative incidence rate is 101/100,000 inhabitants, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, out of 100,000 inhabitants, four people have been infected.
On the geographical distribution, Mrabet said that 498 new cases of contamination were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat (399 in Casablanca, 23 in Settat, 29 in Mohammédia, 14 in Midiouna, 06 in Benslimane, 04 in Naoucer and 03 cases in El Jadida), 350 in Marrakech-Safi (328 in Marrakech, 17 in Kelâa De Sraghna, 03 in Rhamna, one case in Al Haouz and one case in Safi), 172 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (135 in Tangier, 28 in Tétouan, 08 in M'diq Fnideq and one case in Laarache), 167 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (35 in Témara, 73 in Salé, 09 in Kénitra, 37 in Rabat, 08 in Sidi Kacem and 05 case in Khémisset), 113 Fez-Meknès (66 in Fez, 27 in Meknes, 07 in Sefrou, 05 in Ifrane, 03 in Moulay Yaâcoub, 02 in Taza, 02 in Taounate and one case in Boulemane), 97 Béni-Mellal- Khénifra (73 in Béni Mellal, 13 in Fqih Ben Saleh, 04 in Khénifra, 04 in Khouribga and 03 cases in Azilal), 48 in Daraâ-Tafilalet (11 in Ouarzazate, 21 in Errachidia, 11 in Zagoura, 04 in Midelt and a case in Tinguir), 21 in Souss-Mass (02 in Agadir, 04 in Tata, 06 in Ta roudante and 09 cases in Inzegane Ait Melloul), 13 in the eastern region (04 in Oujda, 03 in Driouch, 03 in Guercif, one case in Berkane, one case in Jerada and one case in Nador), 13 in Dakhla Oued Eddahab, all identified in the city of Dakhla, 06 in Laâyoune Sakia El Hamra (in Laâyoune) and 01 Guelmim-Oued Noun (in Guelmim).
The number of cases excluded after negative test results amounts to 20,807, for a total of 1,479,708, he said, adding that the 1,146 new cases were detected within the framework of the contact tracking system (76%).
Regarding active cases, Mrabet noted that their number stands at 10,461 people, i.e. a rate of 29/100,000 inhabitants, noting that most of these cases are recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Marrakech-Safi, Fez-Meknes and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.
Regarding people in critical condition, he reported 147 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 63 intubated people. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (44, including 33 intubated people), Marrakech-Safi (33 including 2 intubated people), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (36, including 09 intubated cases), Fez-Meknes (14, including 11 intubated cases), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (12 cases including 05 intubated people), Souss-Massa (4, including 02 intubated patients), Daraâ Tafilalet (one intubated person), the eastern region (02) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (01).
