This new figure brings to 34,063 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 24,524 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 72%, said the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 516, with 18 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, he added.
The cumulative incidence rate is 94/100,000 inhabitants, he said, noting that in the last 24 hours, out of 100,000 inhabitants, 2.3 people have been infected.
He said 743 new cases were detected through the contact tracking system (90%).
On the geographical distribution, Mrabet said that 295 new cases were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 114 in Fez-Meknes, 103 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 100 in Marrakech-Safi, 78 in Daraâ-Tafilalet, 75 in Beni-Mellal-Khénifra, 40 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 08 in Dakhla Oued Eddahab, 08 in the eastern region (08), 04 in Souss-Mass (04 cases) and one case in Guelmim-Oued Noun.
The number of cases excluded after negative test results is 21,301, for a total of 1,438,032.
Regarding active cases, Mrabet noted that their number stands at 9,023 people, i.e. a rate of 25/100,000 inhabitants, adding that most of these cases are recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Marrakech-Safi and Fez-Meknes.
Regarding people in critical condition, he reported 127 cases admitted to intensive care units, including 48 intubated people. These cases are distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (38, including 29 intubated people), Marrakech-Safi (33 including, 2 intubated people), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (28, including 3 intubated people), Fez-Meknes (12 including 7 intubated cases), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (14 cases including 7 intubated patients), Souss-Massa (1), and the eastern region (1).
