Moroccan Aid to Lebanon Reflects Depth of Long-standing Relations between the Two Brotherly Countries (Ambassador)

Rabat - The emergency humanitarian and medical aid sent on the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI to Lebanon, following the tragic explosion in the port of Beirut, reflects the depth of the long-standing relations uniting the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, said Saturday in Rabat, ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Morocco, Ziad Atallah.

This act of generosity has had a great impact on the Lebanese, and came at the right time, said Atallah, in an interview with the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) TV channel M24 and its radio station (Rim Radio), stressing that relations between Morocco and Lebanon are "deep, rooted and centuries-old".

The Lebanese diplomat praised the responsiveness of the Kingdom, which immediately reacted to his country's distress call by providing medicines, hospital and medical equipment, as well as food, noting that this generous gesture was welcomed with great appreciation by Lebanon and will remain engraved in the consciousness and history of every Lebanese.

This is "an initiative and a historic gesture that we highly appreciate," the Lebanese ambassador stressed, noting that HM the King showed sincere feelings of brotherhood by sending this aid to Lebanon.
