This new figure brings to 30,662 the number of contaminations in the Kingdom since the first case reported on March 2 and to 21,548 that of people who have fully recovered, i.e. a recovery rate of 70%, said coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet.
The death toll rose to 461, with 12 new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, he added, noting that the cumulative incidence rate is 84.4/100,000 inhabitants.
He also said that 794 among the new cases (78%) were detected as part of the contact tracking system which has so far reached 131,996 people, including 19,376 currently under medical monitoring.
As for the geographical distribution of the new cases, the official said that 309 cases were recorded in Casablanca-Settat (272 in Casablanca, 34 in Mohammédia, 2 in Berchid and 01 in Benslimane), 294 in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (256 in Tangier, 33 in Tétouan, 03 in Al Hoceima, 01 in Mdiq-Fnidq and 01 in Larache), 197 in Fez-Meknès (110 in Fez, 44 in Sefrou, 20 in Meknès, 12 in Taza, 06 El Hajeb , 03 in Taounate and 01 in Moulay Yaacoub), 80 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (25 in Temara, 21 in Salé, 21 in Rabat, 05 in Sidi Kacem, 04 in Kénitra and 04 Sidi Slimane), 36 in Marrakech-Safi (35 in Marrakech and 01 in Safi), 31 in Draâ-Tafilalet (19 in Ouarzazate, 08 in Midelt, 03 in Zagora and 01 in Errachidia), 22 in the eastern region (06 in Jerada, 06 in Oujda, 06 in Taourirt , 02 in Nador, 01 in Guercif and 01 in Figuig), 18 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra (13 in Béni Mellal and 05 in Khouribga), 11 in Souss-Massa (05 in Inezegane, 03 in Tiznitet, 06 in Taroudant), 07 cases in Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab (all in Dakhla), 07 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (all in Laâ youne) and 06 and Guelmim-Oued Noun (04 in Guelmim and 02 in Tan-Tan).
Regarding the twelve deaths, they occurred in the cities of Casablanca (05), Fez (04), Rabat (01), Tangier (01) and Marrakech (01), the official said, stressing that the number of cases excluded after negative test results amounted to 20,325, for a total of 1,374,497 cases.
Regarding active cases, Mrabet indicated that 8,653 people are currently under treatment in hospitals (24/100,000 inhabitants), distributed between the regions of Casablanca-Settat (2,242), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (2,094) , Fez-Meknes (1.865), Marrakech-Safi (1.039), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (706), Drâa-Tafilalet (226), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (186), the eastern region (141), Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab (54), Souss-Massa (52), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (41) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (07).
For people in critical condition, he reported 127 cases admitted to intensive care units (23 intubated people), adding that these cases are distributed among the regions of Casablanca-Settat (46 cases, including 13 intubated people), Marrakech-Safi (33), Tétouan-Al Hoceima (23, including 02 intubated persons), Fez-Meknes (11, including 05 intubated cases), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (11, including 03 intubated individuals) and Souss-Massa (03).
