In a press release, the government explains that these measures will be applied according to the following criteria:
1. At the level of the cities of Tangier and Fez:
- Obligation to have an exceptional authorization to travel from and to Tangier and Fez
- Ban on all gatherings
- Closure of convenience stores, supermarkets and cafes at 10 p.m.
- Closure of restaurants at 11 p.m.
- Closure of beaches and public parks
- Closure of games rooms, sports halls and community fields
- Reduction of public transport capacity to 50 pc
2. Measures decided at the level of residential neighborhoods where the pandemic has spread in the cities of Tangier and Fez:
- Closure of the accesses leading to these neighborhoods by security barriers
- Going to and out of areas concerned by the closure will be subject to special travel authorizations issued by the local authorities
- Closure of local shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants at 8 p.m.
- Closure of local souks at 4 p.m.
- Closure of hammams and beauty salons
In its press release, the government, while urging citizens to strictly respect the various preventive measures announced and to adhere, with commitment and with all responsibility, to national efforts to stem the spread of the new coronavirus, insists that rigorous surveillance procedures will be taken against any individual who violates the regulations in force, in particular the compulsory wearing of a protective mask and respect for social distancing in public places.
