The border control operation carried out on the car, immediately after its arrival at the port during an exceptional sea trip from France, led to the seizure of a cargo of cocaine well-packed inside the rear bumper of the car, the national police (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that the driver of the vehicle, a Belgian national of Moroccan origin and aged 35, was arrested.

The suspect has been placed in police custody to complete the preliminary investigation conducted by the judicial police brigade of the Tangier Med Port, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to elucidate the ins and outs of this case and determine all the potential ramifications and persons suspected of involvement in the his criminal activity, the DGSN concluded.
