Speaking at a webinar on "Covid-19, Influenza, HPV and Pneumococcus: the importance of vaccination, what recommendations?", the minister said it is necessary to ensure that, in addition to Covid-19 patients, national hospitals are able to admit people suffering from other diseases or in need of care as soon as possible.
These are, mainly, pregnant women, children to be vaccinated, people suffering from kidney failure, cancer or those needing urgent operations, he said, stressing the need to ensure continuity of medical care in the Kingdom.
The minister also noted that the royal High directives have served as a roadmap for the fight against the pandemic and have helped to avoid "tragic scenarios", saying that the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom remains "reassuring".
However, the government official deplored the increase in deaths and cases of SARS-Cov-2 infection in recent days, and highlighted the massive testing effort conducted to stem the spread of this pandemic.
He considered that the decision to gradually lift the state of health emergency was taken with a view to a gradual return to a "normal" economic and social life, calling on citizens to show responsibility and to respect all the health measures put in place by the authorities, including frequent hand washing, the wearing of protective masks, ventilation of enclosed spaces and respect for social distancing.
In this sense, Ait Taleb considered that a return to confinement is possible at any time, if the preventive measures are not properly respected, as the virus remains omnipresent.
