A total of 8,337 detainees have benefited from remote trials, the CSPJ said Monday in a statement, adding that these figures provide indicators with organizational, human and technical dimensions that the Council is working to improve in the sense of enshrining the human rights approach.
Furthermore, taking into account transparency and in accordance with the participatory and communicational approaches adopted, the CSPJ informs public opinion of all the developments recorded within the framework of the remote trial mechanism launched on 27 April, according to the same source, stressing that this initiative enables the judiciary to fully carry out its missions and honor its commitments in accordance with legal and constitutional guarantees, with full respect for the health safety of individuals at this exceptional time.
