El Ouafi noted that this cooperation has resulted in the signing by the Kingdom of several agreements and partnerships in the economic, social, cultural and environmental fields with the aim of deepening and accelerating the regional and sub-regional integration processes.
The initiatives launched by HM King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the Action Summit convened on the sidelines of COP22 on climate change, such as the creation of the three Climate Commissions of the Congo Basin, the Sahel Region and the Island States, are a perfect example, she said during a panel entitled "Messages from the regions".
"As a founding partner, Morocco remains mobilized for the achievement of the objectives of these initiatives," said El Ouafi, who is also a member of the bureau of the African Regional Forum for sustainable development.
Similarly, one of the latest manifestations of the Kingdom's commitment to Africa's development was the Royal initiative on the establishment of an operational framework to support other African countries in the management of the coronavirus pandemic, the minister noted, adding that this initiative, which is part of African solidarity, has resulted in the sending of medical aid to about fifteen countries on the continent.
