Illegal Immigration: 32 Sub-Saharan Nationals Arrested in Dakhla

Dakhla - A total of 32 Sub-Saharan would-be illegal immigrants were arrested Monday by the Royal Navy and the Royal Gendarmerie at the fishing village 'Ntireft', north of the city of Dakhla, according to a security source.

These individuals, including 17 women a new-born child, were heading for the Canary Islands aboard a small fishing boat, the source added.

A large quantity of fuel and equipment used in illegal immigration operations were seized.

They were transferred to the Dakhla's reception center as part of the measures provided for by the state of health emergency, while an investigation was opened.
