New COVID-19 Clusters in Tangier: Previously Announced Restrictions Extended to the Entire City (Ministry)

Rabat - Following the release announcing the tightening of restrictions and precautionary measures in some areas of Tangier after the appearance of new COVID-19 clusters, it was decided to extend these restrictions to the entire territorial area of the city as of this Monday July 13, 2020, at noon, the Interior Ministry has announced.

The ministry points out in a release that it has also been decided to suspend public transport as well as road and rail transport from and to the city of Tangier and to strengthen control to encourage citizens to stay at home and to leave their homes only in cases of extreme necessity, adding that moving within the territorial area of Tangier requires an exceptional authorization issued by the local authorities.

For those who need to go out of the city, they need an exceptional travel permit issued by the local authorities, the source says.

Easing these measures depends on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the city, the ministry adds.
