In a presentation for the Committee on Education and Cultural and Social Affairs in the House of Advisors on "the epidemiological situation and post-quarantine health measures", the Minister stressed that it is a question of keeping the fatality rate low and taking individual and collective protection measures to stem the epidemic, deeming that, to ensure the success of the measures taken, the conditions necessary for the mobilization of all partners and actors at all levels should be met.
Ait Taleb reviewed the five foundations of the strategic plan to support the gradual lifting of quarantine restrictions focused on the mass use of testing in production sectors that have a direct link to the citizen, as well as support for a number of professionals, production units and companies to promote health, safety and prevention measures in accordance with national and international health safety standards.
According to the Minister, it is also a matter of monitoring the stocks of drugs, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment in public hospitals as part of preparations for the total lifting of quarantine, to put in place a plan for the redeployment of professionals mobilized within the intervention teams, to intensify operations to raise awareness of health, safety and social distance measures, in addition to wearing masks during the post-quarantine period.
Ait Taleb also stressed the need to continue to be vigilant in terms of monitoring and response, particularly within the intensive care units with a level of 10 to 20% of the overall accommodation capacity at regional level.
He also reassured citizens about the recent increase in the number of positive cases which is due to the expansion of early collective screening, noting that the epidemiological situation remains under control to this day and that it is necessary to comply with preventive and health security measures to avoid any possible new wave of Covid-19.
The large number of new cases registered in a number of professional clusters is indicative of the great efforts made by the public authorities to contain the epidemic and curb its spread, he said.
