3.4-Magnitude Tremor Shakes Taounate Province

Rabat - A 3.4-magnitude quake on the Richter scale was felt on Sunday in the province of Taounate, the National Institute for Geophysics (ING) said.

The quake, whose epicentre is located in the Loulja commune, was recorded at 00.28 a.m. (GMT+1), the National Earthquake Surveillance and Alert Network, under the said institute, noted in a seismic alert bulletin.

The quake occurred at a depth of 9 km, a 34,328°N latitude and a 4,917°W longitude, the same source added.
