Within the framework of the monitoring of the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in the province of Safi and following the meeting held on Friday, the wali of Marrakech-Safi region Karim Kassi-Lahlou chaired on Saturday at the headquarters of the prefecture of the province of Safi, a meeting in the presence of the governor of the province, regional and local security officials, the regional director and the provincial health delegate as well as local authorities.

This meeting was devoted to examining the mechanisms likely to curb the spread of the pandemic of the new coronavirus.

During this meeting, the wali of the region urged all stakeholders in favor of a general and total mobilization in the service of the interests of the city and its people.

A series of measures were taken to control the situation, namely the total closure of the 3rd urban district under the city of Safi where the positive cases of Covid-19 are located, the closure and prohibition of trips to and from the City except in specific cases, the immediate closure of the 18 conservation units located in the city and the stopping of the transportation of their employees.

It was also decided to close the shops at 6:00 p.m. and cafes at 8:00 p.m., and to ban access to the city beach and close two community-based markets "Assalam" and "Siha" in the third district.

It was also decided to intensify sterilization and disinfection operations at the level of said district, mainly in the zones where the detected positive cases are located, the sterilization and disinfection of public places, parks and public transportation means, the multiplication of awareness-raising campaigns to inform citizens of the measures taken as well as the medical care for confirmed cases in hospitals in the city of Safi and other regions.

The authorities of the wilaya of Marrakech-Safi remain mobilized to ensure the daily and continuous monitoring of the epidemiological situation at the level of the City, while calling on the inhabitants of the city to interact positively with the measures decreed with a view to control the spread of the pandemic and return to normal life as soon as possible.
