The friendship group, chaired by Martha Gladiz Chávez Cossío, from the Popular Force party and ex-speaker of the Peruvian Parliament, includes among its members Manuel Merino de Lama, current speaker of the legislative branch.
The creation of this group aims to bring the two countries closer and share information and experience on parliamentary matters, as well as to promote dialogue, cooperation and consultation on issues of common interest, said a statement from the Embassy of Morocco in Peru.
In addition to Martha Gladiz Chávez Cossío and Manuel Merino de Lama (Union For Peru party), the new Peru-Morocco parliamentary friendship group includes Mártires Lizana Santos ("Popular Force" party, vice-president), Ruben Pantoja Calvo (Union For Peru, member) and Maria Luisa Silupú (Popular Force, Secretary), according to the same source.
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Peru welcomed this initiative, which reinforces the positive dynamism of bilateral relations, highlighting the role that this new group can play in promoting multidimensional cooperation and consolidating ties of friendship between the two countries, mainly by launching joint parliamentary initiatives and activities.
