Speaking on the occasion of 111th ordinary session of the General Assembly of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), El Otmani said that the challenge today is to overcome the repercussions of the health crisis and revitalize economic activity while remaining vigilant to preserve the health of citizens.
The government is working to limit the impact of the health crisis on the country's macroeconomic balances, he said, emphasizing the need to set a balance between the resumption of economic activity and the protection of citizens' health.
He said that the government's vision to develop the national economy is based on two pillars, namely an economic revitalization plan which runs until the end of 2021, specifying that the latter aims to resume economic activity by supporting the different categories of national impacted businesses, in particular the micro and medium-sized enterprises, and ensuring the stability of public investment.
The amended appropriation bill for 2020, whose main orientations will be presented to the Council of Ministers, will have a main role in the implementation of this plan, said the head of government.
Regarding the second pillar, El Otmani cited the medium-term economic recovery plan, the design of which will be in tune with the project of renewing the development model with a reorganization of priorities at the economic and social levels.
