The reception ceremony for this aid took place in the presence notably of the Malagasy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and of Health, Tehindrazanarivelo Liva Djacoba and Ahmad Ahmad respectively, as well as Moroccan Ambassador to Madagascar Mohamed Benjilani, members of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, section of Madagascar, and members of the association of former Malagasy students in Morocco.
Speaking on this occasion, Djacoba expressed the gratitude of his country to HM King Mohammed VI for this important act of solidarity with Madagascar, stressing that the Moroccan donation provides further proof of the exemplary relations between the two countries.
"This donation comes at the right time as the country is in the midst of the fight against the spread of Covid-19," said the Malagasy official, reiterating the heartfelt thanks for Morocco which is standing by the side of Madagascar," he said.
For his part, the Moroccan ambassador to Madagascar underlined that this health assistance, decided by HM King Mohammed VI, shows in the most tangible way, the spirit of solidarity which drives the Sovereign towards African countries.
The aid is composed of face masks, visors, hygiene caps, coats, hydroalcoholic gel, as well as packs of chloroquine and Azithromycin.
This solidarity action is part of the implementation of the Initiative launched by HM the King on April 13, 2020, as a pragmatic and action-oriented approach, intended for the brotherly African countries, enabling the sharing of experiences and good practices and aiming to establish an operational framework in order to support their efforts in the various phases of the pandemic management.
