"By this laudable act, HM King Mohammed VI demonstrates that he is a Sovereign who puts into acts the Kingdom's words and commitments, both at the continental and bilateral levels", said, in a statement to MAP, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cameroon to Brazil, Martin Mbeng.
The Cameroonian ambassador deemed that "this necessary and inescapable solidarity transcends the only health framework to attain a common African economic response. Indeed, the scope of the call of HM the King also integrates the relevance of a strengthened economic partnership in order to mitigate the highly harmful effects of the COVID-19 pandemic."
The ambassador of the Republic of Malawi, Brian Bowler, underlined in a similar statement that the Kingdom, and the Kings of Morocco, have always been a real support for African countries, in particular Malawi, adding that "the Malawians are sensitive to this new aid which testifies to the African leadership of the Kingdom".
The Royal Initiative to send aid to several African countries, composed notably of masks, visors, coats, gowns, hydroalcoholic gel, as well as boxes of chloroquine and Azithromycin, was highly praised Wednesday at the meeting of the African group, which includes 34 ambassadors to Brazil.
