In a press release, the National Police (DGSN) said that the Police Prefecture of Marrakech had received complaints about a clinic that practices illegal abortion, which required the notification of the public prosecution in charge for these crimes and the opening of a preliminary investigation in this regard.
This security intervention helped to arrest of a 77-year-old doctor, owner of the clinic, four nurses and two women who had previously undergone illegal surgical abortion operations in the same establishment, added the same source.
It noted that policemen also arrested a female minor, a man who had an illegal relationship with her, an acquaintance of the minor, as well as a pregnant woman, who were carrying out analyzes in order to undergo a similar abortion.
Eight of the suspects were remanded in police custody, while the minor was placed under police control, the press release said, adding that two patients had been subjected to the preliminary investigation ordered by the competent public prosecutor's office in order to clarify the ins and outs of this case.
