The first operation led to the seizure of 5 tons of cannabis resin concealed inside a car in a house under construction at Douar Tiayba Dar Choufani, in the province of El Jadida, National Police (DGSN) said in a release.

A man was arrested for his alleged involvement in this case, the source said, adding that this operation was carried out following investigations opened after the seizure of 480 kg of cannabis resin on June 12, 2020, near Sidi Rahal.

The second operation led to the seizure of 2.2 tons of cannabis resin in a farm in the M'Haya region, it said, adding that policemen have arrested the farm’s guard and another man, who is suspected to be involved in drug-trafficking and who had in his possession a large sum of money which could come from this criminal activity.

All the people arrested were placed on custody pending the end of investigations carried out by the competent public prosecutor’s office to arrest all the people involved in these criminal activities.
