Thus, 344 hearings were held, 6,096 cases scheduled and 7,176 detainees tried remotely, said the Higher Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) in a press release.
This figure, it said, provides indicators of organizational, human and technical dimensions which the council is striving to improve while making sure to foster the human rights approach.
It is in line with the CSPJ's strategic plan aimed at developing the modes of action of justice, in accordance with the requirements and priorities of the current exceptional stage, while ensuring the optimal application of the remote trial system and monitoring all its organizational, technical and human aspects with the required responsibility and professionalism.
The plan also aims to lay a healthy and solid foundation for the reform project, using a participatory approach that is necessary to modernize and develop legal action as a lever for development, it added.
In this regard, the Council commended the tireless efforts made by partners, authorities, institutions and justice professionals, as evidenced by the significant results obtained since the launch of this project on April 27, 2020.
