In response to a central question at the House of Advisors, the Minister underlined the mobilization of diplomatic missions and consulates to offer the necessary financial assistance to stranded Moroccans who are in need of it.

The Minister has in fact supported 6,852 citizens in terms of accommodation, health care, psychological support, medication, and costs of surgical operations, childbirth and treatment sessions, including chemotherapy, radiology and hemodialysis.

The department ensures support for stranded Moroccans and the monitoring of their situation by the setting up of the crisis unit created at the central level as well as the establishment of 155 monitoring and intervention units inside embassies and consulates of the Kingdom.

A call center was also set up for Moroccan expatriates, a service which has made it possible since March 16 to receive more than 236,111 calls, knowing that the center has interacted with 110,475 calls, said the minister.

These actions are also related to intervention with the authorities of host countries to extend the duration of residence permits, ensure the continuity of public service and the processing of requests for obtaining travel documents, in addition to the mobilization of the network of Moroccan lawyers established in 14 countries in Europe, America and Africa in order to provide remote legal consultations.

Morocco will begin in 48 hours the repatriation of Moroccans stranded in Spain, priority being given to Moroccan nationals living in the south of Spain, particularly Algeciras, before including Catalonia and the capital Madrid, announced Bourita.

The repatriation operation, which will include people with short-term visas, will then be extended, according to him, to Turkey, France, the Gulf countries and African countries in strict compliance with health measures.
