More than 2.2 billion dirhams have been allocated to the acquisition of medical equipment needed to fight the pandemic, said Benchaâboun during the oral question session in the House of Advisors.
To date, he said, 743 resuscitation beds, 664 inpatient beds and 348 ventilators have been acquired, in addition to several other medical equipment, noting that the ministry is working to provide the health department with the necessary financial resources according to the changing epidemiological situation.
The minister also stressed that 11.5 billion dirhams have been mobilized to finance the measures taken within the framework of the Economic Monitoring Committee (CVE), especially employees declared in the formal sector and households operating in the informal sector, in temporary work stoppage due to the pandemic.
In this regard, he recalled the various measures and procedures taken in favor of employees declared to the National Social Security Fund -CNSS, in temporary cessation of work, as well as households operating in the informal sector.
In addition to the measures aimed at these two categories, the CVE approved a package of actions in favor of businesses affected by the pandemic, in particular very small, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as the liberal professions, he added.
In support of the measures taken by the CVE, Benchaaboun noted that Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) has adopted other measures concerning monetary policy and prudential rules aimed at increasing the refinancing capacity of banks.
