Fear of contamination hinders household access to health care for 53% for ordinary diseases, 61% for child immunization, 51% for antenatal and postnatal consultations and 64% for reproductive health services, said the HCP in a survey on "the impact of the coronavirus on the economic, social and psychological situation of households".
Of all households with one or more chronically ill members (30%), almost half (48%) did not have access to health services, 46% in urban areas and 53% in rural areas, noted the same source, adding that among the 29% of households affected by common diseases, 40% did not have access to health services, 38% in urban areas and 44% in rural areas.
According to the survey, 11% of Moroccan households have children to be vaccinated, with only 36% having had to forego immunization services.
Conducted from 14 to 23 April this year, this survey made it possible to monitor the adaptation of the lifestyle of households under the constraint of confinement. It targeted a sample of 2,350 households representative of the different socio-economic strata of the Moroccan population according to their urban and rural environment.
