Early indications suggest that the suspect used a hunting rifle in his possession to fire several shots during a conflict with two of his sons, said the national police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that the use of the rifle did not result in any physical or material damage and that investigations are under way to determine the reasons behind the conflict.

 The searches and inquiry carried out by national security elements, who were immediately alerted to this case, made it possible to arrest the suspect on the spot and seize the authorized hunting rifle as well as a certain number of cartridges, added the DGSN.

 The suspect has been placed in police custody to complete the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to determine the circumstances surrounding this case, the statement concluded.
