This session, which took place in the presence of the interior minister, Abdelouafi Laftit, was marked by the implementation of remote electronic voting, through a secure platform allowing the present members and those located in other cities to take part in the voting operation.
The bill, which was adopted unanimously, completes the procedure, provided for by the Constitution, in particular article 81, by submitting the aforementioned legislative decree to the Parliament for approval.
Presenting the bill, Laftit stressed that the government had approved on 23 March a legislative decree on the provisions relating to the state of health emergency and the measures for its declaration.
The text was adopted unanimously by the two concerned committees at the House of Representatives and the House of Advisors, before its publication on the official bulletin on March 24, he added.
It is in accordance with this text that the state of health emergency was decreed on the whole national territory until April 20, then extended until May 20, in order to ensure an optimal implementation of the measures aimed at protecting people and stopping the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, Laftit pointed out.
The minister called for observing the measures related to the state of health emergency, with a view to safeguarding the security of citizens and the country in general.
