Distance Learning: ICESCO Offers Donation to National Education Commission for Acquisition of Computer Equipment

Rabat - The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has made a financial donation of $49,000 to the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Science and Culture (MarocNatCom).

According to a joint statement, this grant will enable the acquisition of computer equipment, in particular, pedagogical tablets for the benefit of pupils in schools in certain rural communes, belonging to the regional academies of education and training in the regions of Marrakech-Safi and Beni-Mellal Khenifra.

 The tablets will enable these students to follow the courses deployed in the framework of distance education, set up to ensure the pedagogical continuity of learners and learning since the establishment by the Kingdom of Morocco of several measures to combat Covid-19.

 The National Commission and ICESCO had signed on 30 April a Memorandum of Understanding supporting the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Morocco to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
