Amekraz stressed that the objectives of these draft texts are to develop the legal arsenal and its adequacy with international labor standards, as well as the continued implementation of the provisions of the Constitution, in order to create favorable conditions to improve the business climate and to consolidate the principles of decent work and social justice, through the adoption of a participatory approach with the social and institutional partners.
As part of strengthening cooperation with the various institutions and bodies concerned to ensure the proper application of the law, several projects have been undertaken in collaboration with the presidency of the public prosecutor's office to seek ways to strengthen the convergence of the action of the office and that of the labor inspectorate, particularly with regard to strengthening and improving the application of social legislation and the implementation of Act No. 19-12 of 10 August 2016 laying down the conditions of work and employment of domestic workers, noted the minister.
Referring to international and regional standard-setting activity, Amekraz pointed out that three international labor conventions had been deposited with the International Labour Organization for ratification, noting that they are Conventions Nos. 97, 102 and 187, as well as the launching of the procedure for the submission to the legislative system of International Labour Convention No. 190 and International Labour Recommendation No. 206 concerning the elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work, in addition to the preparation of 11 reports on the implementation of international and Arab labor conventions.
Amekraz affirmed that the government is studying the possibility of ratifying certain international and Arab conventions, which will inevitably lead to the consolidation of the principles of social justice and the strengthening of Morocco's position at the international and regional levels in the field of the promotion and protection of human rights.
